Anchor Set is a Boston-based aggressive rock group with influences ranging from punk to metal to hardcore to indie rock to 80s pop music. To try and label them as any one of these genres would not do their intense, unique sound justice, with dual singer/screamers layered on top of intricate guitar lines. In fact, classifying this band is so difficult that we had to start with what they are not. They are NOT a pop punk band with selectively placed screaming parts to mix it up. Rather, Anchor Set is screamy and intense throughout, with subtle punk undertones and melodic pop sensibilities that pop out here and there and get you hooked. The band recorded their debut CD "Anchor Set" with Jack Younger and it was released on Nice Guy in December 2002. They broke up shortly thereafter, leaving a historic record that those who know about swear by.
